Live-edge Cottonwood Table: Custom Furniture Deliveries and Summer Sales!

I'm kicking this week off with a couple of table deliveries. Tomorrow, I'll deliver and install a live-edge cottonwood table in Orange County.

The client ordered a custom set of metal legs, which I'll attach onsite. Later this week, I'll deliver and install a custom epoxy and wood bar top for a home in San Diego.

Rustic Redwood Root

Later this week, I'll be moving my large wood sculptures inside the barn in anticipation of the rainy season.

Once in the barn, I'll begin sanding and finishing these sculptures, prepping them for sale. These pieces would make incredible standalone art for indoor or garden spaces.

This week, I'll also build some furniture for my inventory. The first is a large round wooden table made from a single slab of exotic Nara wood. I'm debating whether to create a custom metal base for the table or use a wood stump for a more rustic look.

Additionally, I'll be prepping a beautiful wood and glass river table this week.

The custom metal base for this one-of-a-kind live-edge dining table in San Diego should be ready early next month, and I'm excited to see it come together. I call these tables "Air Canyon Tables" because they resemble the Grand Canyon more than a river, especially when the resin looks like flowing water.

Round White Oak Tables or Live Edge Dart Boards?

This week, I must also decide what to do with two beautiful round sheets of white oak veneer. They remind me of live edge dart boards, so that's likely what I'll make. However, they'd also make stunning round white oak coffee or end tables. I need to make up my mind and get started.

Speaking of end tables, I'm working on a rustic end table made from a redwood tree stump. The top has rotted out, and I'm filling the voids with black epoxy.

Once filled, I'll maintain the top's natural shape, then sand and finish the piece before oiling it. It should result in a unique, rustic end table.

In other news, the girls and I made a kid's desk for their bedroom using wood, epoxy, and crayons

This was a fun project for the whole family. It resulted in a one-of-a-kind live-edge kid's table with epoxy resin and crayons. We were surprised that the crayons melted when the epoxy heated up! Although the result wasn't as perfect as planned, the kids loved the abstract look and were proud of their work.

The pond looks great, and I'm happy (and somewhat surprised) that it and the lawn survived our heatwave. Sure, there's some algae to remove, but I expected worse.

Last week, we took a family stroll around the pond and were surprised to see a giant full moon. It was neat to see such a big moon hanging over the pond, which we've named The Moon Lagoon.

Reclaimed Bowling Alley Countertops in Airplane Hangar

This past weekend, my friend Randy installed custom wood countertops we made for his airplane hangar.

These countertops were crafted from reclaimed bowling alley lanes. Randy picked them up, brought them to my shop, and spent a week shaping them into custom countertops. He then stained and resin-coated them.

Admittedly, I only helped a little, but they turned out great! I especially like the live edges around the sink cutout
